Rider Street View is written and maintained by a small editorial team of riders, writers and photographers based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This page explains who we are, how our bylines work and the experience behind the articles we publish.
How our bylines work
Most articles carry the brand byline Rider Street View, because they are researched, ridden and written by the team together and reviewed by an editor. Where a single person is responsible for a piece, the article carries that person's name. We never expose staff login accounts as public author profiles.
Roles on the team
- Editor. Sets the editorial calendar, commissions articles, checks facts, verifies routes and signs off every page before it is published.
- Route and road testers. Ride the roads we write about, note surface, traffic, fuel and food stops, and flag anything that looks unsafe or has changed.
- Writers and translators. Turn those rides into clear guides and stories in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Photographers. Take and edit the images published with each article.
- Web and SEO. Keep the site fast, accessible and correctly structured for search.
Our experience
Between us the team has spent years riding the roads of Jakarta, West Java, Banten and beyond, covering thousands of kilometres on daily commutes, weekend loops and longer trips across Java and Bali. That first-hand experience is what we write from: not press releases or copied listings, but what the road is actually like from the saddle.
Independence and accountability
Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team alone. Advertising, sponsorships and affiliate links, where they appear, are labelled clearly and never influence what we write or how we rate a route. If we get something wrong, we correct it. Contribute or work with us
We welcome route suggestions, corrections and photos from readers. If you know a road we should cover, or you want to write for the site, tell us about yourself and what you ride.
