Editorial Policy

How we research, write, check and correct the content on Rider Street View.

Rider Street View publishes route guides, city and night rides, travel stories and practical advice for riders in Indonesia. This Editorial Policy explains how that content is produced and kept accurate, so you can judge how much to rely on it. It works together with our About, Authors and Disclaimer pages.

Our aim

We write for the rider who is planning a trip or curious about a road: clear, first-hand, useful content in English and Bahasa Indonesia. We do not publish content just to fill pages, and we do not copy other people's work.

Who writes and checks

Articles are written by our editorial team and named contributors. Every published piece is reviewed by an editor before it goes live. The people behind the site are listed on our Authors page.

Our standards

  • Original. Content is written by us from our own riding, reporting and photography.
  • Useful. We describe what a rider actually needs to know: the route, the surface, traffic, fuel and food stops, and what to watch out for.
  • Honest. We say when a route was busy, closed, worse than expected, or simply not worth the ride.
  • Correct and current. We check facts before publishing and update articles when things change.

Sources and attribution

Where a fact comes from an outside source, we name it and link to it. Photographs are our own unless a credit says otherwise, and we do not use images we do not have the right to publish. If you believe your work has been used incorrectly, contact us and we will act quickly.

Use of AI tools

We may use software, including AI-assisted tools, to help with tasks such as transcription, translation drafts, spelling or research leads. A human editor remains responsible for every published article: facts are verified and the final text is reviewed and approved by a person. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated text as our own reporting.

Advertising, sponsorship and affiliates

We may show advertising, including ads served by third parties such as Google AdSense, and we may take part in affiliate programmes. Paid or sponsored articles and affiliate links are labelled clearly, in plain language, in the article itself. Advertisers and affiliates do not see editorial content before publication and do not influence what we write or how we rate a route.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong we correct it. Substantial corrections are noted in the article. Articles are reviewed from time to time and the "last updated" date changes when the content does. If you spot an error or an out-of-date detail, email halo@riderstreetview.com and tell us the page and what should change.

Comments and contributions

We welcome route suggestions and photos from readers. By sending them you confirm you have the right to share them and allow us to publish them. We may edit contributions for length and clarity.
